Oral surgery and implantology

Combines all the surgical treatments such as surgical elongation of the clinical crown (because of insufficient crown height for example), avulsions and the treatment of the mucosa (gum implants, frenectomy, abscess…)

a single solution to many challenges

Laser technology is widely used in this field (read more under Laser assisted dental treatments on the menu tab)

These treatments for oral health rehabilitation comprise a pre-implant evaluation and are carried out in conjunction with other medical practitioners: stomatologists and maxillofacial surgeons.

A dental implant is a small post made of titanium or titanium-zirconium inserted in the alveolar bone ( below the gum in the jawbone) to replace the natural tooth’s missing root. It serves as an anchor for the artificial tooth. This surgical procedure can be performed under local anaesthetic as an out-patient procedure by the dental surgeon chosen with the patient.

Titanium is a bio-compatible substance which enables an optimal osseointegration of the implant. Once healed, the artificial root acts as a base for fixing individual crowns and multi-tooth bridges. It then takes the aspect and the function of a natural tooth.

The pre-implant evaluation as well as the execution of the implant prosthetics are all performed in the dental surgery. Once the bone implants are placed on the dental arch, the physician will produce a dental prosthesis customised to suit each implant after the healing process has taken place.
